David
R. Irvin
David was born November 25, 1943, in Eldorado, Illinois. He received his
undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky in 1965 and graduated from
the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1967. Following his admission to
the bar, David served as a law clerk to B. T. Moynahan, Jr., Chief Judge of the
United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky, after which
he served for just over eight years as United States Magistrate for the Eastern
District of Kentucky. He left the bench on January 31, 1980, to enter into
private practice.
His practice initially consisted almost entirely of litigation, including the defense of white collar criminal charges, a large part of which was in the federal courts. With the passage of time, his practice has expanded to additionally include the ongoing representation of corporate clients in the railroad, banking, and other industries.
David is admitted to practice before the courts of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Fayette County, Jessamine County and Kentucky Bar Associations and is also a member of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel. Bruce was born in Clarksville, Tennessee on December 27, 1947. He earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting at the University of Kentucky in 1970 where he was a member of Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honorary and he graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1974. After being admitted to the bar in 1974, Bruce began his practice in the Nicholasville – Lexington, Kentucky area and surrounding counties. In 1976, he was appointed as the first Domestic Relations Commissioner for the 13th Judicial District, which includes Jessamine, Garrard and Lincoln Counties. He served as Commissioner for three years. Bruce has also served as Chairman of the Nicholasville Board of Ethics.
Bruce has extensive experience in planning and zoning law representing developers and acting as counsel for the Jessamine County – City of Wilmore Joint Planning Commission and the Danville-Boyle County Planning and Zoning Commission. His experience in the administrative law area has further been enhanced by his representation of the Jessamine – South Elkhorn Water District (formerly Lexington-South Elkhorn Water District). Bruce’s other practice areas concentrate on civil litigation, real estate, and estate administration/probate.
He is admitted to practice before the courts of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Kentucky. Bruce is a member of the Jessamine County Bar Association, where he has served as President since 1979, and is also a member of the Fayette County and Kentucky Bar Associations. Chris was born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 24, 1974. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Berea College in 1996, where he served as Vice-President of the Student Government Association and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Chris graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1999, where he earned the Brown, Todd & Heyburn Scholarship and served as Co-President of the Trial Advocacy Board. Following his admission to the bar, Chris joined the law firm of Moynahan, Irvin & Smith, P.S.C., as an associate.
Chris’ primary practice areas are real estate, planning and zoning, family law, adoptions, estate administration/probate and commercial transactions. Jennifer was born March 27, 1972, in Lexington, Kentucky. She received her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, in Accounting, with an English minor from Transylvania University in 1994 and graduated with honors from the Tennessee College of Law in 1997. Following her admission to the bar in both Tennessee and Kentucky, Jennifer entered into private practice in Lexington, practicing in the areas of estate planning, probate, tax and corporate law and business transactions.
Jennifer joined the firm in 2002 and her primary areas of practice continue to be estate planning, probate, tax and corporate law and business transactions. She is admitted to practice before the courts of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the State of Tennessee and the United States Tax Court and is a member of the Jessamine and Fayette County Bar Associations.
